Greetings, Polson Residents!

We are excited to launch the Lead Service Line Inventory project, an initiative driven by the Public Works Department of the City of Polson. At the heart of this project is our ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety and quality of our water infrastructure.

What We Know:

As of now, our utility does not have any records of lead service lines within our system. However, this inventory is a precautionary measure that every municipality is required to undertake. Your participation ensures that we maintain the highest standards of safety and quality in our water supply.

What to Expect:

The Public Works Department at the City of Polson has launched an inventory of all Water Service Lines throughout the entire service area of the City of Polson. The objective of this project is to identify any lead piping both on the city owned side of the curb stop and the resident owned side. This project will require both the Public Works staff and residents help in completing this endeavor to successfully and accurately inventory all service lines to meet EPA requirements. To assist in completing this project, the city has implemented a GIS software that will make the process more achievable, details are as follows:

GIS Mapping Integration: The Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping tool will allow you to explore the city's water infrastructure, allowing you to navigate and visualize all city service lines. The mapping tool will be an important aspect in pinpointing each residents to identify the status of their service lines.
Resident Survey: Your participation is crucial! We encourage all residents that are marked as "unknown" to complete our brief survey found in the Lead Safe Community website to update their service line. This survey will help aid the Public Works staff in conducting the inventory providing a more efficient and accurate process.
