Chief George Simpson, an esteemed member of the Polson Police Department since 2015 and our current Chief of Police. Chief Simpson's journey is marked by exceptional dedication and a diverse background that enriches his role as a law enforcement leader.

Chief Simpson’s commitment to service extends beyond law enforcement, as he is also a military veteran with a distinguished record of 9 years of service in the US Navy. His military experience has undoubtedly contributed to his unwavering sense of duty and leadership skills.

Chief Simpson’s remarkable career in law enforcement began in 2008 with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (FL), where he laid the foundation for his professional journey. His resume shines with diverse experience encompassing various areas of law enforcement, including patrol, narcotics, investigations, Dive Team, and SWAT. Notably, he is a distinguished graduate of the 32nd FBI Executive Command College.

Chief Simpson holds a series of prestigious Montana law enforcement credentials, ranging from Peace Officer Basic to Supervisory and Command levels, reflecting his commitment to ongoing growth and leadership development. His expertise extends beyond traditional law enforcement roles, as he also holds Coroner Basic and Advanced credentials.

Education has played a pivotal role in Chief Simpson’s journey. He holds an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice, a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science with a Minor in Psychology, and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Montana. This academic foundation further equips him to navigate the complex landscape of law enforcement with wisdom and insight.
